Is it time to reject comfort? We think these heels might be worth the effort!

It has been a sad time for high heels in the fashion world. Their ubiquitous presence had already begun to wane before 2020, but then a global pandemic pretty much finished them off. Let’s face it: the most exciting or ambitious shoe anyone wore in lockdown was a trainer—the kind only the truly fitness-hardcore forced themselves to wear while doing burpees in their sitting rooms.

Yes, there have been high-heel stalwarts who carried on wearing their stilettos with pride, but they did look a bit outdated and perhaps even try-hard compared with their trainer-wearing counterparts.

But now, I think the time has come to start a rebellion. Let’s bring the high heel back! Yes, they hurt; yes, you need a taxi; yes, you are probably putting your back out of whack—but take a look at these vintage-inspired, gold-leather, 140 mm skyscrapers by Aquazzura and tell me they don’t spark some rebellious joy in your heart!
